About Me

My name is Dan Roberts and I am currently and undergraduate student at Ball State University, studying animation under Andy Beane and John Ludwick. As of the beginning of this blog, I have been animating since fall semester 2010 with a focus on character animation. In addition to working as an animator, I worked as a Generalist and a Render Rangler on Ball State's film "Two Life," acted as Team Captain and Animator for the 49 Hour Film Challenge entry, "Professor Odd's Fantastic Invention," and am currently working as Lead Animator on Ball State's film, "Nerdvana." I have also been busy working on another short film, codenamed "Piggly," as well as an unannounced iPad game.

As far as future plans go, my main aspiration is to find work as a character animator, either in game cinematics or film. My overall goal with the film this blog is dedicated to is to test myself not only as an animator but as a project leader; I want to shape this film pretty much from the ground up and see if my team of colleagues and I can really pull this off. Personally, I think we have what it takes.

For anyone curious about my previous animations, they can be found here on my vimeo page.
